Emotion Check-In Corner

Build emotional vocabulary through daily ritual.

Materials

  • Say & Stick device
  • Sticker paper
  • Large mood board poster or whiteboard section
  • Pre-made emotion word list (happy, sad, excited, nervous, proud...)

Setup

  1. Mount mood board at child eye level near the classroom entrance.
  2. Prepare a laminated emotion word list as a reference.
  3. Set device to a simple one-word print mode.

Runbook

  1. Each morning, each child approaches the Check-In Corner.
  2. Child chooses an emotion word from the reference list and says it aloud.
  3. Child prints a sticker with that word (and optionally a matching emoji/icon).
  4. Child places sticker in their row on the mood board.
  5. Teacher briefly acknowledges each child's emotion: "I see you're excited today!"
